...AND MAYBE THERE WILL BE PAINTINGS TOO... • Saturday 3/5/2025 at 17:00 • Lipka, Czech Republic • Chapel of St. Anne in Stará Lipka u Vimperku The concert at Lipka was an unusual fusion of poetry and music. Both elements were innovative. I recited from my verse novel Variations on Tzara (which is already written in a distinctly alternative style), and between the spoken segments, Jana Rosia and I performed ambient improvisations on two cellos.
The audience was given various more or less musical objects—like triangles or small stones—and joined in the musical part by chiming, tapping, and similar sounds, depending on the mood of the moment.
A sound recording of this literary-musical performance was also made.
After the show, the audience split into two camps: one really liked the performance, and the other (the more conservative one) really didn’t...
